Birthdays birthdays birthdays!

Howdy y'all!

As you can imagine with a house full of kids there are lots of birthdays. So far since I have been here there have been 3! Trinity turned 12. Sarie turned 6 and Noah turned 3! We got to go to Rainforest cafe for their birthdays. I am really enjoying that place.

Another tradition they have for birthdays is pancake breakfast and a cake made usually by their dad. This time Saries cake was made by her mommy. It was very big and really really heavy. It was super yummy too!

Lets go fly a kite

Hi y'all!

Wow it has been a while since I wrote. Sorry about that. I am staying with a very very busy family. More on that another day.

Today they canceled every appointment and spent the day at the park flying a kite and having a blast. I went up the slide and down the slide. I watched the kite go higher and higher and higher up the air. It was a blistery wide day! Take a look!!

Rainforest Cafe

Flat Stella here!

Valentines day is a big celebration in this family's home. It is not just valentines day it is their daughter Trinity's birthday!!!

Tradition for the family is to go to a place called Rainforest Cafe for the kids birthdays. So we headed out to dinner.

Rainforest Cafe is super cool! They have huge animals and there is a thunder storm that happens every 10 mins!! The animals go crazy and hoot n holler and shake trees and stuff. It is a lot of fun.
They even order a lava cake and sing to the birthday girl. We had a blast. Take a look.....

Archery

Flat Stella here!

Today I learned about archery. Do you know what that is? Wikipedia defines archery as  the art, practice, or skill of propelling arrows with the use of a bow. Kinda like Robin Hood.

Trinity is the oldest daughter in the family of who I am staying with. She is going to be 12 in a couple days. In September last year she started archery. Her scores were so good that she was ranked as top shooter in her division in the state of Texas! Soon she will go and compete in the State Championship. I got to go watch her shoot at a tournament. After I sat down to ask her a few questions.

Stella: What made you choose archery as a sport to try?

Trinity: It looked interested and fun. I really wanted to try it after reading the books about Narnia by CS Lewis. I also read the Hunger Games and saw the Brave movie.

Stella: Tell me how it works. What do you have to do? What do you use?

Trinity: I use a PSE Discovery bow and arrows. Sometimes I wear an arm guard so my arm doesnt get hurt from the arrows. I use a target and aim for the X. You put the arrow in the bow and pull back the string and shoot.

Stella: Is it hard to do?

Trinity: Sometimes. Pulling back can be hard.

Stella: Where do you shoot?

Trinity: Cinnamon Creek Ranch is where I shoot on Mondays and where I practice. I also practice in the back yard. I go to tournaments all over Texas on the weekends.

Stella: Have you won anything?

Trinity: I won a gold and 3 silver metals and I took first in 2 other tournaments I competed in.

Stella: What is your favorite part of archery?

Trinity: Shooting.

Stella: What do you like to shoot?

Trinity: Balloons and fake animals are my favorite. I like to shoot targets too.

Stella: Is archery fun?

Trinity: Yes! Very fun!

Stella: What would you say to someone who was just starting out?

Trinity: Just have fun with it. Its hard at first but it will get easier so dont give up.

Wow! Thanks Trinity! I learned a lot about archery. It looks like a lot of fun. I even got to go watch a tournament. I got my picture taken with the top shooters in Texas. It was really a blast!

Bye ya'll!

World Down Syndrome Day

Did you know that every year on March 21st it is World Down Syndrome Day? Do you know why it is on March 21st? March 21st or 3/21. Another name for Down Syndrome is Trisomy 21. Tri means 3. So kids with down syndrome have 3 copies of their 21st chromosome. We all have chromosomes but most of us have 2 copies of each for a total of 46 and kids with down syndrome have 47! Its a lot of technical stuff but that's the jest of it.

So every year all over the USA people celebrate World Down Syndrome Day. This year was the Beck families first year. Mine too!!! We all had a super fun time. I got to meet lots of cool kids. Some had down syndrome and others didn't. Some kids could talk, run, jump and play and others couldn't. What I saw though were just kids. I didn't see their disability just them. Some of their mommies and daddies loved having them so much they adopted more kids with down syndrome from all over the world.

I got to have pizza and cake. Miss Ashlee was busy so she didn't get a lot of pictures of me, but she got a lot of pictures of my new friends I made.

Now its time for me to come home. I can't wait to see you all. I am bringing presents!!! It has been a lot of fun here in Texas but the weather is starting to get hot so it is time to go!

Oh and before you go check out this really cool video.

See y'all soon!!!
